Job Role: Receptionist

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answers and direct calls take messages and handle messages. Welcomes mortgage and real estate loan members and borrowers. Possibility of providing loan program information and/or applicants, accepting payments, and issuing receipts.
  • Responsible for monitoring supply levels and organizing ordering of supplies with the support officer.
  • Responsible for opening mail, processing and distributing it to the proper units, and routing it to the right credit union department. Research and retrieve loan numbers for mail without a loan number reference, and send insurance-related mail (hazard, flood, MI) to the relevant Specialist.
  • Responsible for overnight shipping through UPS or FedEx, depending on the situation.
  • Responsible for overseeing the repayment of real estate loans, drafting reconveyance petitions for paid-in-full loans, and transmitting papers for imaging.
  • Reports on the status of paid-in-full loans.
  • As needed, assist in preparing files and documents for record retention or imaging.
  • As required, provides help for mortgage servicing.
    Performs other tasks as assigned.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.


  • Prior public-facing clerical experience of at least one year is desirable.
  • Must be capable of answering several phone lines, directing calls, and maintaining a professional and pleasant appearance. This job is necessary to personally meet members/borrowers and lead them to the relevant staff member.
  • Organizing documents in alphabetical, numerical, or color-coded order.
  • Capability to distinguish and identify records. Calculator proficiency, typing speed of 30-35 words per minute, data entry abilities, and familiarity with standard office equipment is essential.
