The Quantity of Information that Corporations Acquired about their Employees
During the pandemic, the amount of data collected by corporations about their employees rose at an exponential rate. Employers certainly know more about their workforces now than they ever have before, whether they collected data on workers’ personal health and safety, gathered productivity statistics through remote monitoring systems, or recognized how employees communicate on internal networks. Some experts say that this extended data gathering poses a significant concern since many organizations are not honest enough with their employees about why and how such data is collected, nor do they take the necessary precautions to guarantee that sensitive information is kept secure. According to Gartner’s study, employees who are treated as data partners—defined as individuals who are kept informed about why and how the business collects data on them and who are satisfied that information is secure—are prepared to work more for their companies.
